John Vairo was a truly amazing, extraordinary man---very energetic and enthusiastic, accomplished and impressive in his activities & huge array of accomplishments...yet he was ALSO very kind and warm. I will always remember him with true affection, great admiration, & real gratitude. Now, "JDV," rest in eternal peace, so memorably earned.

I know that a lot can be said about Mr. Vairo and his contributions to the university. This past year I was recipient of the John D and Gretta C Vairo scholarship. I just wanted to express my thanks for your contribution to my education and deep condolences for your loss.
