Obituary of Walter Rhoades
Walter Rhoades "Uncle Walt", 85, of Jenner's Pond, West Grove, PA died Friday, December 30, 2011 at home. Mr. Rhoades was born in Berwick, PA and had been a resident of Media, PA before moving to Jenner's Pond twelve years ago.
Mr. Rhoades was a graduate of Northeast High School (renamed "Edison High School), Class of 1945.
He received a BS Degree in Elementary Education, West Chester State Teachers College, Class of 1948, a MS Degree - Public School Administration, Temple University, Class of 1953, MS Degree - Curriculum and Instruction, University of Pennsylvania, Class of 1974
Mr. Rhoades was the Asst. Superintendent, Instruction, Upper Merion School District, Montgomery County 1974 - 1984. He previously worked as the Asst. Superintendent, Instruction, Penn-Delco School Dist., Delaware County, PA 1955 - 1974, Supervisor, Elementary Education, Upper Dublin Dist., Montgomery County 1953 - 1955 and Elementary
Teacher - Paoli Elementary School, Tredyffrin-Easttown District, Chester County, PA 1948 - 1953. He also was employed at The Camera Shop, Inc. and Ritz Cameras
Mr. Rhoades was a member of Middletown Presbyterian Church.
Mr. Rhoades was the recipient of the National Certified Photographic Counselor of the Year - 1999 by Photo Marketing Association International
