Obituary of Earl A. Parris

Earl A. Parris, age 96, of Coplay, PA, formerly of Upland, PA, and Brookhaven, PA, died at home on Sunday, February 18, 2024.

Earl was born August 19, 1927 in Upland, PA. He was a graduate of Chester High School, class of 1945.  Earl continued his education at Devry Electronic Technical School in Chicago, Illinois.

Mr. Parris was a U. S. Navy Veteran, serving during WWII.

Earl was employed with the Philadelphia Electric Company for 36 years, retiring in 1984.

Earl was a devoted lifetime member of Upland Baptist Church, Upland, PA.   Earl was a member and the past president of the Lions Club in Aston, PA, and received the Melvin Jones Fellow  Award.  He was a volunteer at Crozer Chester Medical Center. 

Earl was an avid lifelong Phillies Fan and the Iron Pigs.

He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather and will be dearly missed.

Son of the late Earl B. and Mildred E. Hayes Parris; Husband of the late Shirley Lord Parris; Brother of the late Richard (Selma) Parris and Betty (Robert) Singley.

Grandchildren: Ian Huet, Erin (Tony) Gouchnauer, Erik Huet, Daniel Reppert, Rachel (Vincent) Amato, Alex Horton, Peter (Catherine Curtis) Horton, Nikolas (Hanna) Horton, Channing Parris, Allegra Parris

Great-Grandchildren: Lucy, Adam, Zachary Gouchnauer

Also survived by nieces and nephews.

Visitation: Monday, February 26^th after 11:00AM at the Minshall Shropshire-Bleyler Funeral Home, Middletown (Rte. #352) & Knowlton Rds., Middletown Twp., Media, PA 19063. 

Funeral Service: Monday, February 26^th at Noon at the funeral home, Lions Service will be held at 11:45AM

Interment: Upland Baptist Churchyard.
