Obituary of Virginia M. Kricun

Virginia M. “Ginny” (Brawner) Kricun, age 84, of Audubon, PA, formerly of Radnor, PA, died on Monday, April 1, 2024, surrounded by her loving family at home.

Ginny was the wife of the late Morrie E. Kricun, MD, who died in 2020.

Ginny committed more than 65 years of service to improving conditions for communities and residents of the Greater Philadelphia region.  As an expert in corporate social responsibility, she set standards for ESG practices that are used around the world today.  Her work as Director of Sun Company’s Community Development Programs and her service as a founder and/or board member of other organizations has resulted in many institutions, programs and public spaces that have enduring effects.  Among these are Avenue of the Arts, WOMENS WAY, the Prince Theater, Resources for Human Development, Gaudenzia House Residential Treatment Centers, Technion America, Girl Scouts of Greater Philadelphia, the Urban League, Lower Providence Planning Commission, Philadelphia Theater Company, Please Touch Museum, Pennsylvania Program for Women and Girl Offenders, the Friends of the Free Library of Philadelphia.  Her efforts have produced an enduring legacy for generations yet to come.

She is survived by her brother-in-law, Dr. Robert (Stephanie) Kricun. She was the proud Aunt of Dr. Ashley K. (Ross) Summer and Dr. Bret J. (Hilary) Kricun and great-nieces and great-nephews. She is also survived by a dear friend, Marilyn (Wernick) Toub.

Visitation will be held Monday, April 8th from 9:00-9:45AM at the Carriage House of St. John’s Presbyterian Church, 217 Berkley Road, Devon, PA 19333, followed by funeral services in the church at 10:00AM.
