My name is Judith. I immigrated here from Kenya many decades ago. I met Joy when I worked and Lifecare Hospitals of Chester County. Joy was my patient that day When we started chatting and soon discovered that we shared a special bond of raising sons with intellectual disabilities . Joy’s kind, friendly, caring, and mentoring spirit made me feel that someone truly understood my challenges. Ever since then, Joy always called me to check on how I was doing with my son. She always advised and suggested things I could do, and even looked into the future on my behalf, since O was always afraid to do so.

I have been trying to call her since early this year, I didn’t realize she got sick.

Just today I decided to Google my dear friend.

My sonceee condolences to the family and Sam.

I know that Joy always talked about how happy Sam was. I am so glad she made sure Sam will always be well taken care of regardless of whether she was there or not.

I am privileged to have known her and benefited from her support and wisdom on how to navigate the journey of raising a son with intellectual disabilities.

May her sweet soul continue to rest in Eyernal Peace.
