Obituary of Valerie J. Lejman
Valerie J. Lejman “Val” age: 91, of Bridgeville, DE, formerly of Media, Pennsylvania, died on Sunday, July 21, 2024. Val was born on July 1, 1933. She was a graduate of Ridley High School.
Val worked as a Manager of Information Systems at Penn Machine Works until the time of her retirement. She had previously worked for Devereux for many years. Upon retirement she worked for Lima United Methodist Church.
Val was a lifelong equestrian. Her two horses, Ladd and Levaydah, were loved and cherished. Honorable mention to her little goat, Joey. She volunteered at Whimsical Horse Rescue for many years, working to rescue abandoned and neglected horses. Val was a talented bowler as a young woman, belonging to the PWBA 600 Club and the WIBC, and having bowled a perfect game on record. She loved hot air balloons and her beloved pets. She was a smart, tough business woman who built a career in IT in the 80s and 90s and became an inspiration to many young women in her family as the original Girl Boss.
Val was a good and faithful servant of God and was a living example of God's love. Most importantly, Val was a mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, and Gigi to her family, who she loved more than anything.
Daughter of the late, Elmer Coleman and Mildred Coleman, Sister of the late, Conrad Coleman.

Granddaughter: Jennifer V. Atkinson
She had a special place in her heart for Cathy, Jessica, and Maria and her many, many great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and their partners and children.
Visitation: Thursday, August 1st after 11:30AM at the Minshall Shropshire-Bleyler Funeral Home, Middletown (Rte. #352) & Knowlton Rds., Middletown Twp., Media, PA 19063.
Funeral Service: Thursday, August 1st at 12:30PM at the funeral home.
Interment: Lawn Croft Cemetery.
