Obituary of John W. Camp, Sr.

John W. Camp Sr. (“Jack”) Aston, PA

John W. Camp Sr., affectionately known as “Jack,” passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August13, 2024, at the age of 84. Born in Darby, PA, Jack lived a full and vibrant life, marked by love and dedication.

Jack was a devoted husband to his beloved wife, Joyce, with whom he shared 64 wonderful years of marriage. He retired from Chevron Company and later worked at Project Control Services. Jack was preceded in death by his parents, George and Margaret Camp, his brother George Camp, and his son David Camp.

He is survived by his loving wife Joyce; his son John and daughter-in-law Nancy (Athens, GA); his daughter Elaine and son-in-law Bill (Aston, PA); and his cherished grandchildren Kristin, Billy, Matthew, and David. He is also survived by his sister, Dolores (Bill), along with numerous nephews and nieces.

A proud graduate of Sharon Hill High School, Jack had a passion for boating and fishing, often spending joyful days at his cherished home in Cape May. He was an ardent fan of all Philadelphia sports teams and the University of Georgia Ice Dawgs Hockey.

Jack’s legacy of love, enthusiasm for life, and dedication to his family & friends will be remembered and cherished by all who knew him. He will be deeply missed.

Visitation: Wednesday, August 21st after 9:30AM at the Minshall Shropshire-Bleyler Funeral Home, Middletown (Rte. #352) & Knowlton Rds., Middletown Twp., Media, PA, 19063.

Funeral Service: Wednesday, August 21st at 11:00AM at the funeral home.

Interment: Mount Hope Cemetery, Aston, PA.
