Obituary of Roger M. Claycomb

 

Roger M. Claycomb, age 81, of Media, formerly of King, PA, died peacefully in his sleep on Sunday, August 25, 2024.

Roger was a graduate of Claysburg High School, and Humbolt Institute of Transportation, where he studied aviation.  Mr. Claycomb was employed with Delta Airlines for 33 years, as the shift supervisor, until retiring in 1995.  After retiring, he worked for 16 years with Penn Delco School District as a bus driver, until 2012.

Roger was a member of Middletown Presbyterian Church for 55 years.

He enjoyed fishing, hunting and traveling. Roger was kind hearted and always had a positive outlook.  He will be dearly missed.

Son of the late Ray and M. Pauline (Feather) Claycomb; Brother of the late Schubert Claycomb and Christobel Haulman.

Survivors:

Wife of 60 years: D. Jean (Zeglin) Claycomb

Son: Roger M. (Carmella) Claycomb, Jr.

Daughter: Penny (Jeff) Schenk

Grandchildren: Hunter, Joshua, Jacob, Mitchell, Olivia, Jeffrey

Great-Grandchildren: Stella, Colton

Brother: Timothy (the late Anita) Claycomb

Brother-in-law: Donald Haulman

Sister-in-law: Nancy Claycomb

Also survived by nieces and nephews

Visitation: Thursday, August 29th after 5:00PM at the Minshall Shropshire-Bleyler Funeral Home, Middletown (Rte. #352) & Knowlton Rds., Middletown Twp., Media, PA 19063.

Funeral Service: Thursday, August 29th at 6:30PM at the funeral home.

Funeral Service and Burial wil be: Saturday, August 31st at 11:00AM at St. Mark's Church in King, PA, with a luncheon to follow.

In lieu of flowers or donations, Roger’s final wish would be that you do a good deed or help someone in need.
