Obituary of Donna K. Miller

Donna K Miller, 87, of Glen Mills, PA, died suddenly on Wednesday, September 4, 2024 at Riddle Hospital in Media.

Born in Nanticoke (upstate Pennsylvania), Donna lived in Ridley Township for over 70 years, until she and her husband Ed moved to the Maris Grove retirement community in Glen Mills 15 years ago. She attended Ridley High School and worked for Bell Telephone prior to pursuing her dream job of working at a floral shop. She worked at Gilberts Flowers in Ridley Township for over a decade, then years later continued to foster her love of flowers while working at John Wanamaker Department Store as a silk floral designer. Upon moving to Maris Grove, Donna continued to design floral arrangements for fellow residents and looked forward to participating in the Community Arts & Crafts Festival each year.

She was a member of the Delaware Valley Water Garden Society and had a great love of not only her backyard fish pond, but of the birds, squirrels and rabbits that seemed to gravitate toward her. Donna was an ambassador, both formally and informally, at Maris Grove and warmly welcomed new residents. She was an avid “Sequence” game player, and also enjoyed her daily crossword puzzles. Known for her sense of humor and friendly demeanor, she will be missed by all who knew her.

Her greatest joy in life was spending time with her grandchildren, Michael and Lindsay, and more recently with her 5 great-grandchildren to whom she was affectionately known as “Grammy”.

Survivors:  Devoted daughter Lauren (Miller) Melone and son-in-law Anthony Melone; Adored grandson Michael Melone and wife, Jessica
and adored granddaughter Lindsay Walsh and husband, Ryan; and five precious great-grandchildren children, Gianna, AJ, Kelsey, Lexi and Quinn

Also survived by dearest friend Bob Brown

Visitation:  Burial will be private. A memorial event will be held at a future date at Maris Grove
