Obituary of William D. Carney

William Davis "Chic" Carney, age 72, of Brookhaven, PA, died at home peacefully with family on Monday, September 9, 2024.

Chic was born on April 16, 1952, and was a graduate of St. James High School and Temple University.

He was a U.S. Army Veteran, serving during Vietnam.

Mr. Carney was a refinery inspector with BP, Sun Oil and Philadelphia Energy Solutions, retiring in 2016.

Chic enjoyed golfing at Edgmont Country Club and DuPont, walking at the trails, and gardening.  He was an avid Phillies, Eagles, Sixers and Flyers fan.   Chic also enjoyed the Big Five Basketball and Temple sports.  He loved hanging out with Freddie and Fozzie.  Most of all, he cherished his times with family and friends.

Son of the late John Carney and Lois (Joe) McCarty; Brother of the late Joe McCarty and Sharon Stubb.

Visitation: Thursday, September 19th after 10:00AM at the Minshall Shropshire-Bleyler Funeral Home, Middletown (Rte. #352) & Knowlton Rds., Middletown Twp., Media, PA 19063.

Family Sharing: Thursday, September 19th at 11:30AM at the funeral home.

Military Honors will be held after the family sharing.
