Obituary of James F. McLaughlin

James F. McLaughlin, age 78, of Glen Mills, PA, formerly of Springfield and Sharon Hill, PA, died on Sunday, September 22, 2024.

Jim was a graduate of Bishop Neumann High School, Class of 1964.   He was a truck driver for 40 years with Linde Corporation, retiring in 2012.  After retiring, Jim found enjoyment working part-time with the Philadelphia Phillies.

Jim was a veteran of the U.S. Army National Guard.

He was a former parishioner of the Church of St. Francis of Assisi, Springfield, PA.  He is a parishioner of the Church of St. Thomas the Apostle, Glen Mills, PA.

Jim was a 40 year member of the Men of Malvern. He enjoyed spending time in Avalon, NJ, and Wildwood, NJ. Jim cherished spending time with his children and grandchildren.  He adored his King Charles Cavalier dog, Chloe.  Jim was a loving husband, father and Pop-Pop and will be dearly missed.

Son of the late Mary Jane Sheppard Cunningham.

Wife of 56 years: Dorothea (Murray) McLaughlin

Children:  Michelle (Mark) Bodnar, James (Kristi) McLaughlin, Jr., Colleen (Brian) Houghton, Kelly (Kevin) Glacken, Kate (Brian) Devlin

Grandchildren:  Mark, Dana, Bree, Luke, Harry, Owen, Brody, Caden, Lauren, Claire, Finn, Annie.

Visitation:  Friday, September 27th from 9:30-11:00AM at the Minshall Shropshire-Bleyler Funeral Home, Middletown (Rte. #352) & Knowlton Rds., Middletown Twp., Media, PA 19063.

Funeral Mass:  Friday, September 27th at 11:30AM at the Church of St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 430 Valleybrook Rd., Glen Mills, PA 19342.

Interment: SS. Peter & Paul Cemetery.
