Obituary of Ruth W. Hill

Ruth W. Hill, beloved wife of Harry Hill for 66 years, died on September 27, 2024 at the age of 91. Ruth was born in Windsor, Pennsylvania and grew up on a family farm. Ruth was a graduate of Millersville State Teachers College and also Penn State University, where she earned degrees in education, and then worked as an elementary school teacher.

Ruth is survived by husband Harry, daughter Barbara lngelman (Jeff) of Bermuda, and Beth Chopp (Brian) of Williamsburg, Virginia. Ruth is also survived by grandchildren Kristen, Matthew and Shaun, and great grandchildren Ira and Everly. Ruth was preceded in death by parents Edward and Iva Workinger, and sisters, Helen Warner, Mabel Warner, Louise Warner, and brothers, Robert Brown and Richard Workinger. Ruth enjoyed cooking, gardening, and spending time with family and friends. Ruth was a long time member of St. Timothy's Lutheran Church in Aston, Pennsylvania.

A Celebration of Ruth's Life will be held at a later time. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations can be made in Ruth's memory to Friends of the Aston Public Library or to the St. James Cemetery Fund, where Ruth will be buried.
