Obituary of Ellen A. McGovern

Ellen A. Gorman McGovern, age 85, a longtime resident of Boothwyn, PA formerly of Aston, PA, died on November 18, 2024, surrounded by her family.

Ellen was born  on September 2, 1939 and raised in Lenni, PA. She was a graduate of Notre Dame HIgh School, Moylan, PA. 

Ellen spent time as an X-ray Technician. Later in her career, she attended Lankenau School of Nursing, where she obtained her LPN. Ellen worked full time and raised her children while attending DCCC for her Registered Nurse Degree. After obtaining her RN, Ellen utilized her skills and knowledge working at Riddle Hospital, until her retirement. 

Ellen was a long-time parishioner of the church of  St. John Fisher, Boothwyn, PA.

Ellen was an adoring grandmother who enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. Spending time with her family was the light of her days. She was passionate about gardening and spending time around the pool.

Wife of the late John A. McGovern, Jr., Daughter of the late William E. and Ellen Gorman. Sister of the late Vincent Gorman and William E. Gorman. 

Survivors:

Children: John (the late Bethann) A. McGovern III, Daniel (Deanna) McGovern, Ellen C. (Frank) James, Sue (Jim) Gray

Grandchildren: Matthew (Emily), Shannon (Sean), Kelly (Jesse), Stephen (Lauren), Michael, Austin, Brett, Tyler

Great Grandchildren: Emma, Samantha, Scarlet, Sage, Liam, Fletcher, Brodie

Visitation: Monday, November 25th after 10:00AM at the Minshall Shropshire-Bleyler Funeral Home, Middletown (Rte. #352) & Knowlton Rds., Middletown Twp., Media, PA 19063.

A Celebration of John and Ellen’s Life will be held on Monday, November 25th at 11:30AM at the funeral home.

Interment: SS. Peter & Paul Cemetery.
