Obituary of Harry G. Toland

Harry Groome Toland, 89, of Wallingford, PA died Tuesday, January 31, 2012 at home. Mr. Toland was born in Philadelphia, PA and had been a resident of Swarthmore, PA before moving to Wallingford, PA thirty years ago. Mr. Toland was a graduate of the Episcopal Academy and Yale University. He served in the US Marine Corp during World War II as a First Lieutenant. Harry was employed with the Evening Bulletin for forty-five years retiring as a Journalist in 1982. He was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church, Swarthmore, PA where he had served with the Vestry and Selection Committee. He was a member of the Interlocaters, and volunteered with St. Mary's Food Cupboard, Chester, PA and the Thresholds' (Prison Society). Harry was also involved with various other Charities. Most of all, Harry loved his family and especially enjoyed his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Flynn (Anthony Flynn), Robert Toland Kingham (Jacquelin Greener), Alexis Kingham Fuge (Dylan Fuge) and Megan Kingham Chua (Gilbert Chua), Robert Connelly Toland and Grace Catherine Toland. Great-Grandchildren: A. J., Kelly and Sean Flynn and Sofia and Annabelle Emily Fuge Sisters: Priscilla T. Drinker Page and Susan Toland Ruf (Benjamin Ruf) Brothers: Robert Toland, Jr. (Marion Thayer Toland) and Samuel (Mary Ann B.) Wagner
