Obituary of Peter Hinkelman

Peter Gordon Hinkelman “Pete,” age 72, of West Chester, Pennsylvania, formerly of Folsom, PA, died on January 9, 2025 at his home.

Pete graduated from Ridley High School, Class of 1971. He went on to serve in the United States Navy and Navy Reserves for 23 years. While in the reserves, Pete worked at Sun Shipbuilding & Drydock Co. in Chester, PA.

 Pete was a devoted member of St. Timothy’s Lutheran Church, Aston, PA.  He spent many hours as a crossing guard in Ridley Township.

Pete was a member of Lansdowne Masonic Lodge #711, F & A M. Pete also was a member of the Folsom Fire Company, where he won Fireman of Year in 2016. Helping people brought great joy to Pete’s life. He was an avid animal lover, especially of dogs. He loved dogs so much that he started to breed King Charles Cavaliers. He will be dearly missed.

Son of the late Gordon L. Hinkelman and Eva Oprouseck; brother of the late William M. Hinkelman, and his beloved late wife Deborah Wadsworth-Hinkelman.

Sister-in-Law: Linda Hinkelman

Also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Services will be announced at a later date.
