I am saddened to hear of the passing of my good friend Dick. We were Sigma Pi fraternity brothers and he was my best buddy in college. We were both members of the NCAA 3rd place basketball team at U of I in 51-52. We kept in touch all these years by phone reminiscing about friends and health issues and updating each other about our families. I last spoke with him in mid December 2024. My wife Sharon and I visited and stayed with him and Marcia in their condo in FL several years ago. He was a great guy and true friend.I will miss him dearly.

We talked regularly during the years and reminisced about old times and friends as well as updating our health issues and our families. I last spoke with him in mid December 2024. I will truly miss talking with him. My wife Sharon and I visited and stayed a few days with him and Marcia in their Florida condo many years ago.

I am so sorry to hear of your father's death. I met Dick during our Pan Am days and have kept in touch since. He was truly a gentleman and a gentle man. He will be missed.

I extend my deepest condolences to the children, extended family, and grand children of Richard Ems. I always have a memory of Richard as a man of deep conviction, honesty and high integrity as we discussed flying and politics. I always sensed a powerful core character of fortitude and strength, which is powerfully demonstrated in his successful children and grand children and which I know will live on through future generations of Ems! with deepest condolences from Helsinki Finland (Klaus-Peter Finke-Härkönen)
