Obituary of Eleanor E. Harriz-Riker

ELEANOR E. HARRIZ-RIKER Wife of the late Clifford G. Harriz, the late Andrew L. Riker, III and mother of the late Donald G. Harriz Eleanor E. Harriz-Riker, 97, "Miss Ellie" as she was known to her friends, died peacefully in her home in Oak Run, Ocala, FL on June 11, 2012. She was born in Georgetown, Washington DC in 1914 and after her marriage to the late Clifford Harriz they moved to Media, PA in 1941. Miss Ellie and her late husband Andrew Riker moved to Florida in 1989. Miss Ellie served as the church secretary for 23 years at Media Presbyterian Church, Media, PA. She was an avid reader and loved to sing and act in many shows at Media School as well as in the Little Theatre Group in Ocala, FL. Miss Ellie was an only child and cherished her large legacy of children and grandchildren. Retirement in Florida gave Miss Ellie and her late husband, Andrew great pleasure and they traveled extensively. She enjoyed collecting antiques, old literary books and until the age of 94 bowled in the Oak Run League. SURVIVORS Daughters: Maggee P. Harriz & Betzy Bond-Duffy both of Ocala, FL Sons: James W. Harriz of Media, PA Three Step-Daughters Nine Grandchildren Eleven Step-Grandchildren Nineteen Great-Grandchildren Fourteen Step Great-Grandchildren One Great-Great-Grandson Memorial Contributions in lieu of flowers may be given to the local Hospice Care Organization of PA; or a charity of the donor's choice.
