Obituary of Joseph W. Macek

Joseph W. Macek, 82, of Wallingford, PA, father of seven and retired Electrical Engineer, died September 16, 2012. Born in Derby, CT, he had lived in Wallingford, PA since 1966. Mr. Macek received a Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering from the Catholic University of America. He worked for General Electric Company in various Engineering, Jet Engine Test Engineering, Product Assurance and various Management Positions for 39+ years. He was a member of the Elfun Society of General Electric. He also worked as a Consultant after retirement on various aspects of Electrostatic Discharge. Mr. Macek served as a Reserve Naval Officer with an Air Development Squadron. He was an active member of St. John Chrysostom Parish. He served as President of the Men's Club and St. John's School Parents Association. He was President of the Notre Dame High School Parents Association and co-chairman for many years of the Catholic Charity Parish Drive. He enjoyed gardening, golf, traveling, cooking and spending time with his family. Mr. Macek was preceded in death by his wife of 49 years Mary K. (Shaw) Macek and his twin grandsons, Ryan and Kevin Kirk. SURVIVORS Son: Gregory J. Macek (Susan) of Damascus, MD Daughters: Kathleen J.
