Obituary of Adeline W. Dix

Adeline Helen Walls Dix, formerly of Middletown Twp., PA, passed away on October 10, 2012, at the age of 90, at Windy Hill Senior Center in Philipsburg, PA. Mrs. Dix was born in Lester, PA on April 3, 1922 to the late Norman A. and Helen Meinfeld Walls. She was a resident of Lester, PA before moving to Middletown Twp., PA in 1964. Adeline graduated from Ridley Park High School, Class of 1940, and was employed with the Tinicum Township Police Department, as a secretary. Adeline loved her home and family and was totally devoted to being a full time homemaker. Her hands were never idle, as she loved to knit, crochet, quilt and sew. Adeline was also an enthusiastic bridge player. She was a member of the Tinicum Township Swim Club Steering Committee and Past President and member of the Colonial Club. Adeline was predeceased by her beloved husband of 56 years William L. Dix, who died on April 1, 1998; loving daughter, Nancy Dix Emmons, who died on August 17, 1990; brothers Charles and Edgar Fassler and Norman A. Walls; brother-in-law Donald M. Dix and sisters-in-law Marguerite Walls and Ethel Fassler SURVIVORS Adeline left behind family members: 1 Daughter: Helen Dix "Dixie" (Dr. Bob) Steward of Philipsburg, PA 3 Sons: SGM U.S. Army Ret.
