Obituary of Otto F. Muller
Dr. Otto Freidrich Muller, a 45-year-resident of Upper Providence, Pennsylvania died peacefully in his home at the age of 84 on Monday, December 17, 2012.
Dr. Muller was born in Aue, Germany on July 19th 1928, he received his education in Leipzig, Germany and later, in Marlburg, Germany where he studied to become a physician. In 1954, he came to Atlantic City, NJ as a resident through the Ventor Foundation; studied pathology at Philadelphia General Hospital in 1956 where he finished his residency in cardiology and internal medicine. In 1963, Otto moved his practice to Fitzgerald Mercy Catholic Medical Center (MCMC) in Lansdowne, PA, as Director of Research & Education and Co-Director in the Department of Medicine. In 1973, Otto was named Chairman of Medicine and Cardiology at MCMC and practiced medicine with the Mercy Health System Family for over 35 years. He rose to serve as President of the American Heart Association S.E. Chapter in 1980-1982, and in his semi-retirement years, worked with the Kelly Cardiovascular Group where he practiced for another 10 years.
Dr. Muller was a wonderful husband, father, physician, teacher and friend. Had he not chosen his profession in medicine, surely then, he would have been a concert pianist-for is talent in music was as large as his talent in medicine.
The love of his life, his wife, Marguerite Claire Muller of 50 years, died in December 2007.
