Obituary of Sheila J. Cook
Shelia J. (nee Smith) Cook, age 87 years, of Media, PA and formerly a longtime resident of Springfield, PA, died on December 27, 2012.
Born and raised in Bexley Heath, Kent, England, Mrs. Cook served in the British Womens' Air Force. She met her future husband during WWII and immigrated to the United States in 1948. Mrs. Cook had been a Medical Secretary at both the University of Penna., and later at Lankenau Hospital until her retirement.
Mrs. Cook was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Springfield, PA, where she served as secretary of the Seniors' Association and had served also in the same capacity at Nativity BVM Church in Media, PA. Mrs. Cook also was a Church Lecturer at St. Francis.
Mrs. Cook had also been a member of the Red Hats Society.
She was the wife of the late Charles D. Cook, who died in 1990, and mother of the late Stephen Cook, who died in 2000. She is survived by a daughter, Heather (Larry) Devlin; 3 sons, Jeffrey A. (Zen), David L. (Linda) and Jonathan C. (Lyn) Cook. Also survived by 10 grandchildren.
