Obituary of Ellen M. Mercadante

Ellen M. (Hinderhofer) Mercadante, age 69, of Aston, PA, died Tuesday, February 19, 2013 at Taylor Hospice House. Ellen was born April 9, 1943 in Chester, PA, to the late Harry and Lucille Hinderhofer. She was a 1961 graduate of Chester High School where she was voted Class Secretary. Ellen was employed with Scott Paper, with Aston Presbyterian Day Care as a Teacher, and most recently, with Delaware County Community College. Ellen was a member of Mount Hope United Methodist Church. She was a proud member of the Aston Lioness Club. Ellen's passion was working with children and teenagers. She served as an Advisor to the Leo Club at Sun Valley High School and was a member of the Youth Aid Panel of Aston. She loved sports, volunteering as a Cheerleading Coach and Basketball Coach in the Aston Athletic Association. Ellen was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother, who most of all, enjoyed spending time with her family.
