Obituary of Anthony J. Sgro

Anthony J. Sgro, a 50 year resident of Aston, PA and formerly of Marcus Hook, PA, died Tuesday, May 21, 2013. Mr. Sgro was born and raised in Marcus Hook, PA, where he attended grade school. He was a graduate of Chester High School. Anthony was a Veteran of the U.S. Army, serving during World War II in the Philippines. Mr. Sgro worked for Sun Oil Company for more than 30 years, until his retirement. Mr. Sgro was a parishioner of the Church of St. Joseph, where he served as an Usher, for more than 40 years. He was a member of the Sun Honor Club, Retired Oil Workers, Sun Oil Retirees and the American Legion Post #926. Anthony bowled with Sun Oil and Penn City Leagues. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather, who most of all, cherished spending time with his family. He enjoyed traveling and Philadelphia sports teams, especially the Phillies and Eagles. Anthony was the husband of 70 years to the late Josephine R. LoRusso Sgro, who died in February 2013, son of the late Rocco R. and Anna Sgro and brother of the late Carman, Sam, Joe, Mamie and Rocco.
