Obituary of Michael L. Florio

Mike L. "Poppy" Florio, age 79, of Garnet Valley, Concord Twp., formerly of Wallingford, PA, died Sunday, May 26, 2013, at home, surrounded by his family. Born in Chester, PA, he was the son of the late Cesare D. and Mary Gaudino Florio. He had been a resident of Wallingford, PA for 30 years, before moving to Garnet Valley, PA, nine years ago. Mike was employed at several Chevrolet dealers, before owning and operating Michelle's Gas Station in Claymont, DE. He opened Florio's Auto Body on 4th and Booth's St. in Chester, PA, eventually relocating the Florio Auto Body Shop that included Clayton Towing to 4th and Clayton St, Chester, PA. A member of the Church of St. Thomas the Apostle of Glen Mills, PA, and a past member of the Church of St. John Chrysostom, Wallingford, PA, Mike was a kind and caring man who was devoted to his family. He enjoyed his home in Ventnor, NJ, sharing many special times with his family and friends. Husband of the late Joanne (Minutella) Florio who died in 2011; Brother of the late Mario Florio and Maryanne Signora. Survivors: Son: Michael D. Florio of Aston, PA Daughters: Annmarie (John) Hill of Mt. Laurel, NJ, and Michelle Florio of Wallingford, PA. 2 Brothers: Joseph (Mary) Florio and Victor (Marie) Florio.
