Obituary of Kenneth I. Rose, Jr.
Kenneth I. Rose, Jr. of Wallingford, PA, passed away on September 1, 2013. Born in Philadelphia, to the late Kenneth and Alice Rose of Chester, PA, Mr. Rose grew up in Chester, PA. Mr. Rose graduated from Chester High School in 1957 and went on to earn a Bachelor Degree in education from West Chester State College in 1961 and a Master's Degree in school counseling from Temple University in 1966. He taught history in Pitman, NJ and the West Chester Area School District, and then became a school counselor in Rose Tree Media School District. He retired from Rose Tree Media School District as Director of Pupil Services in 1997. During his retirement, he remained active in education, as an adjunct professor at West Chester University and LaSalle University and as an educational consultant and a Special Education Due Process Hearing Officer in Pennsylvania and Delaware.
Mr. Rose was active in his church, serving as an Elder at First Presbyterian Church of Chester and Wallingford Presbyterian Church. He was a past president of Media Sunrisers Rotary Club. He was a 32nd degree Mason and a member of Concord Lodge No. 625 F&AM; LuLu Shriners; Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite of Free Masonry, Valley of Philadelphia; and St. Alban Commandery No. 47. He also was an Illustrious Knight of the Triangle; Royal Order of Jesters; the Order of Quetzalcoatl and Delaware County Shrine Club. Mr. Rose was a Paul Harris Fellow. He was twice awarded Service Awards from Rose Tree Media School District. He was named Delaware County Shriner of the Year, as well as LuLu Shriners' Patrolman of the Year. In 1995, Mr. Rose was named DELARC Educator of the Year.
Mr. Rose enjoyed being with his loving family. He was an active skier and golfer. Traveling was a favored activity, as was serving his church.

Also survived by nieces and nephews.
Masonic Service: Wednesday at 10:45AM at the church.
Visitation with family will follow service, in the Fellowship Hall.
Interment: Private
