Obituary of Rosemarie Harrison

Rosemarie Harrison (nee Flechsig), a resident of Media, PA for more than 55 years, died on September 6, 2013. Rosemarie was born on December 25, 1923, in Pillnitz, Germany. With her parents, Heinz and Hanna she immigrated to the United States in 1927. Rosemarie and younger brother, Ernie spent their childhood in Ridley Twp., PA. After high school, Rosemarie earned her degree in English from West Chester State Teacher's College (now West Chester University). In 1946, Rosemarie met John Joseph Pershing "Pert" Harrison, the love of her life; they were married on February 4, 1947, and they had five children. Rosemarie taught English at the Williamson Free School in Media, PA and at Chester High School, Chester, PA. She retired from teaching in 1981. Rosemarie was a longtime member of the Media Friends Meeting, and she enjoyed reading, attending classical and jazz concerts, traveling, and spending time with her family. Rosemarie was preceded in death by her parents and her husband. Survivors: Daughters: Judy (Rick) Rhode and Jeanne Harrison (Steve Ford) Sons: Marc (Betsy) Harrison, Gordon Harrison and Steven Harrison (Jennifer Cleary) Grandchildren: Jennifer (Landon) Ward, Kristen (Matthew) Hand, Emily Rhode (Brian Chapman), Dorje Dolma, Joshua Harrison, and Jacob Harrison. Great-Grandchildren: Eden Ward and Lucas Hand Brother: Ernie Also survived by nieces and nephews.
