Obituary of Helen McLaughlin (Beaver) Sobieray

Helen McLaughlin (Beaver) Sobieray, 72, died Wednesday, November 6, 2013, with her family by her side in Media, Pennsylvania. She was born March 22, 1941, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to the late John Edward Beaver and the late Cecilia Katherine McLaughlin. She graduated from Mt. Lebanon High School and attended Georgetown Visitation in Washington, D.C. Helen was a woman of faith and values, practicing her Catholicism in a strong and personal manner. As a member of the Church of St. Francis de Sales, in Lenni, Pennsylvania, she dedicated her working career to the parish by serving as its office manager for 25 years. Helen was a selfless person and loyal friend - always eager to listen and assist those in need, and yet never wanting recognition. Her interests included bridge, crossword and sudoku puzzles, and '50's music. She devoted much of her time and energy outside of the church, as a loving wife and mother, and a doting grandmother. She supported her husband Ed's career in the Navy, which required the family to relocate many times, and kept very fond memories of their years, and community of friends in Marshfield, Massachusetts and Washington D.C. SURVIVORS Husband of 45 years, Edmund S. Sobieray 2 Sons and their spouses, Edmund S.
