Obituary of Ruth Elaine Lee

Ruth Elaine Lee, 97, of Brookhaven, PA, died Thursday, November 14, 2013 at Riddle Memorial Hospital. Ruth was born to the late John and Cora in Hegins, PA, and grew up in Valley View and Mahanoy, PA. She had been a resident of Brookhaven, PA since 1959. Ruth graduated from Hegins Township High School and McCann Business School. After graduating from business school, Ruth moved to Eddystone, PA and took a job with Baldwin Locomotive Company, as a Bookkeeper during World War II. Ruth was a member of Christ United Methodist Church, Brookhaven, PA. She had previously been a member of Providence Avenue United Methodist Church, Chester, PA, where she worked in the Thrift Shop. Ruth was a caring and thoughtful person, and was loved by all who were fortunate to know her. She was always available to lend a helping hand and had a kind word for everyone. Ruth was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother and most of all, treasured spending time with her family. Ruth was predeceased by her husband of 25 years, Albert A. Lee, Jr.; grandsons, Troy and David Volkman; brothers, Ivan, Harry and Bob. SURVIVORS Daughter: Sharon E. Phillips (Charles) Son: David J.
