Obituary of Betty Jane Huff

Betty Jane (Leech) Huff, age 94, of Media, PA, died Saturday, January 4, 2014, at Granite Farms Estates Betty Jane was born to Grace and Wilmer Leech on September 26, 1919, and was raised in Teaneck, New Jersey. She met her husband, Morton Huff, in a rumble seat on an outing with the First Baptist Church in Hackensack, New Jersey. They married in 1942, just before Mort was sent to France. While Mort served with the US Army in the European Theater, and Betty's brother, Bob, served with the US Navy in the Pacific Theater, Betty worked for Metropolitan Life in New York City. After the war, she worked at NBC. Betty and Mort raised four children in Glen Rock, New Jersey, where family life revolved around their home, Gateway Christian School, First Baptist Church, and Camp-of-the-Woods in the Adirondack Mountains. Late in Mort's career in retailing, Betty moved with him to California, St. Louis, Chicago, and New York. They tried retiring in Florida, but soon returned to the northeast and settled in Granite Farms Estates, Media, Pennsylvania, where Betty lived among good friends for the last 27 years of her life.
