Obituary of Jane P. Thomas

Jane Price Thomas, 88, formerly of Pittsburgh, PA and Indian River Shores, FL, passed away on Christmas Day in West Chester, PA. She was the wife of sixty-four years of the late Wm. Barry Thomas, Sr. She is survived by her brother William J. Price and her four children, Barry (Sharron) Thomas, Susan (Richard) Elder, David (Patricia) Thomas and Peter Thomas. She leaves behind three grandchildren, Lisa (Michael) Mallady, Brian (Marie) Thomas, and Philicia Barbieri and four great-grandchildren Taylor, Anna, Kate and William. She was a loving homemaker. After raising her family she worked as a real estate agent in Pennsylvania and Florida and also worked in a gift shop. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Vero Beach. In addition to her family her interests included golf, an elementary student mentoring program, and volunteering at the Environmental Learning Center in Indian River County, FL. She was a 1940 graduate of Oliver High School and had attended Indian River State College (formerly Indian River Community College) through age 74. A service in celebration of her life is to be held on Jan. 13, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at Northmount United Presbyterian Church, 8169 Perry Highway., Pittsburgh, PA and interment will follow immediately thereafter at Allegheny County Memorial Park, 1600 Duncan Ave., Allison Park, PA. Donations in lieu of flowers may be made in her name to Pocopson Home, 1695 Lenape Rd., West Chester 19382-6800.
