Obituary of William L. Lynch
William L. "Bill" Lynch, age 88, of Glen Riddle, Middletown Township, PA, died at home surrounded by his family on Monday, June 30, 2014. Mr. Lynch was born in Philadelphia, PA and had been a resident of Glen Riddle, PA, for more than 43 years.
He was a graduate of West Catholic High School, Class of 1944 and a 1957 graduate of The Pennsylvania Wireless Institute, with a degree in Electrical Engineering. In the early 1960's, Bill taught Radar and Electronic Theory at Drexel University. He was a 65 year member of the IBEW Local 98, Philadelphia, PA.
Mr. Lynch was a US Navy Veteran, serving during World War II from 1944 -1946, as a Radioman 2nd Class, serving at Okinawa, during the invasion. Mr. Lynch was awarded the Pacific Theater Ribbon, American Theater Ribbon and the Victory Medal.
Bill was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Post #3460, Media, PA, Claymont T. Smith - John M. Howard American Legion Post #93, The United States L.S.T. Association, Last Planking Member U.S. L.S.T. 1041, The American Radio Relay League and was President of Delaware Valley Amateur Radio Club W3UZO.
Bill was a longtime parishioner of the Church of St. Francis de Sales, Aston, PA.
He was a man devoted to his home and family and most of all, cherished spending time with loved ones.
He was husband of the late Jean C. Omlor Lynch, who died March 24, 2007.
