Helen E. Whittaker
Helen E. Whittaker, 89, of Ware Presbyterian Village in Oxford PA., and formerly of Landenberg, PA.; Ocean Pines, Maryland; Wallingford, PA.; Upland, PA.; and Chester, PA., passed peacefully at 8:34 AM on September 1 after a long battle with Alzheimer's disease. Born March 26, 1925 in Chester, PA. to William T. Dyson and Nellie (Taylor) Dyson, she graduated from Chester High School. She then married the love of her life, Warren L. Whittaker, Sr., and had two children, Warren, Jr. and Joanne. She was employed at Scott Paper in Chester as payroll supervisor. She was an active member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Chester, PA, and of Salisbury United Methodist in Salisbury, MD. She was a choir member and frequent soprano soloist in both churches. She was a member of the Delaware Valley Choral Society for several years. Helen is survived by her son, Warren L. Whittaker, Jr. (Karen) of Davenport, FL; son in law, Philip Mustico, II of Landenberg, PA, granddaughters Denise S. Powers (Kevin), Cheri E. Ybarra (Johnny), Lisa C. Dolan (Gene), and Margit A. Miller (Brian); grandsons Philip Mustico III and Daniel R. Terry; nine great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by and now rejoins her beloved husband, Warren L. Whittaker Sr., her daughter Joanne E. Mustico, and granddaughter Michele Mustico. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, September 20th, at 10:30AM at Hope United Methodist Church, 1108 Steel Rd., Havertown, PA 19083.
