Obituary of Rosemarie T. DeMeo
Rosemarie T. DeMeo, age 73, of Aston, PA and formerly of Chester, PA, died at home surrounded by her loving family on Sunday, September 28, 2014. Rosemarie was a resident of Chester, PA, before moving to Aston, PA, in 2002. She was a graduate of St. Anthony Grade School, the Academy of Notre Dame, Moylan, PA and attended Widener University.
Ms. Rosemarie DeMeo was a member of the United States Air Force - Supervisory Inventory Management Specialist, Air Force Clothing and Textiles Office, Human Systems Division, Program Executive Officer, Agile Combat Support Directorate, Air Force Life Cycle Management Center (AFLCMC), and was the Lead Air Force Laison at the Defense Logistics Agency-Troop Support Activity location, Philadelphia, PA. She was recommended for the Outstanding Civilian Career Service Award in recognition of her distinguished service as a federal employee from June 17, 1958 until her scheduled retirement date, September 30, 2014.
Ms. Rosemarie DeMeo, as Supervisory Inventory Management Specialist, GS-2010-12, held responsibility over the Air Force Clothing and Textile Office team duties, all Air Force clothing and textile items in the Defense Logistics Agency supply system, and processed all approved changes for those items. These duties encompassed ground and aircrew protective clothing, service dress uniforms, fitness uniforms, gloves, boots, rain suits, flags, medals, awards, and more. Ms. Rosemarie DeMeo won the respect of senior leaders at Air Staff, Defense Logistics Agency, other Armed Services, and key industry committee leaders because of her ability to resolve issues between agencies with tact and diplomacy. Her key role in the Uniform Enterprise Working Group successfully contributed to identifying new strategies that are reducing significant logistics supply chain costs while improving asset visibility to Air Force Life Cycle Managers.
Rosemarie served as a civillan with the U.S. Air Force for 56 years, and on September 18, 2014, the Air Force celebrated their 67th anniversary holding a luncheon in her honor. Also, on August 28, 2014, a flag was flown over the Pentagon in honor of her retirement.
Rosemarie was a parishioner of the Church of St. Joseph, Aston, PA. She enjoyed her family and most of all, loved her nieces and nephews, as her own children.
She was the daughter of the late Andrew and Rose (Dragoni) DeMeo.
