Obituary of Harry G. Phillips

Harry G. Phillips, 99, of Aston, PA, died on Friday, January 23, 2015, surrounded by his loving family. Harry was born and educated in Blairsville, PA, graduating from Blairsville High School, where he was on the wrestling team. Harry was employed for 42 years as a lab technician for Sun Oil Company, until his retirement in 1981. Mr. Phillips was a Merchant Marine and was the head steward. Harry was a member of the Masonic Lodge, Elizabeth, PA. He was a longtime member of the Second Presbyterian Church, Aston, PA. Harry belonged to Rock Manor Golf Club, where he enjoyed playing golf. Harry also enjoyed gardening, and was an excellent cook and baker. Most of all, Harry cherished spending time with his grandchildren.
