Obituary of William J. Lennon

William J. "Bill" Lennon, age 87, of Middletown Twp., PA, died Thursday, May 7, 2015 at home surrounded by his loving family. Bill was born and raised in SW Philadelphia and graduated from West Catholic High School. He attended Kings Point US Merchant Marine Academy, and graduated in 1950, with a BS in Marine Engineering. Bill had a 36 year career encountering adventures sailing the high seas all over the world. He retired in 1986 as Chief Engineer aboard his permanent ship, the ARCO Texas. Bill enjoyed spending his time in Sea Isle City; cheering on his hometown Phillies and Eagles; and most recently, enjoying the youthfulness, spirit and exuberance of his grandchildren. He was the son of the late William J. and Anna (Baxter) Lennon; brother of the late Ann Elliott.
