Obituary of Meg E Spencer

Meg Ellen Spencer, age 55, of Swarthmore, PA, died suddenly on Thursday, September 24, 2015. A 1977 graduate of Nether Providence HS, a 1981 graduate of the University of Richmond, and obtained her Masters in Information Studies at Drexel University. Meg enjoyed her work at Swarthmore College, as the Science Librarian, for more than 30 years. Meg's love of books and reading was seen in all aspects of her life…from her yearly book review, holiday presents, her career, and to leisurely reading at the shore. Ocean City, NJ brought Meg such great happiness. She cherished her annual trips to the shore which the Spencer family had done since they were children. Meg loved her family and was the greatest daughter, sister, aunt, and friend that you could ever hope for. Daughter of the late Earl and Mary Jayne Spencer. SURVIVORS Sister of: Lon Spencer (Margaret) of Cambridge, England, Amy Spencer of Wilmington, DE and Anne Holford (Fred) of Kennett Square, PA. Aunt of: James Spencer, Meredith Hooper, Georgina Spencer and Spencer Hooper. Memorial Service: Wednesday 1:00 PM, October 7, 2015, to honor Meg's life will be held at Lang Music Building on Swarthmore College Campus, www.swarthmore.edu, 500 College Avenue, Swarthmore, PA 19081. (Enter off Elm Avenue to Whittier Place). We invite all Meg's family and friends to bring a children's book which will be donated in her memory.
