Obituary of C. Edward Scheivert

C. Edward Scheivert, age 77, of Middletown Twp., PA, passed away peacefully, October 15, 2015. At age 17, Ed joined the United States Air Force and was stationed in Goosebay Labrador, later becoming an air traffic controller at Philadelphia International Airport. Ed went on to obtain a real estate broker's license and subsequently owned and operated Scheivert Realtors in Gradyville, PA. After purchasing 55 acres in Edgmont, PA, Ed built his home and moved his family to Heather Hills Farm, where he and his wife bred and raised thoroughbred racehorses. A longtime member of St. Francis de Sales, Ed enjoyed serving as a Eucharistic minister, and faithfully delivered communion to residents of Fair Acres. Ed was an avid tennis player, golfer and athletic competitor, serving as a coach in softball leagues and USTA tennis, taking two teams to national championship finals. Ed was a member of the Home Builders Associations of Delaware County, Chester County and Middletown Twp. Business Association. He was also a lifetime member of the Lenni Heights Fire Company and an active member of St. Thomas the Apostle Church, Glen Mills, PA. Despite his many achievements, Ed will be most remembered for his quick wit, engaging personality and devotion to his family, particularly his son, Mark, for whom he has selflessly and diligently cared.
