Condolences
We know he will be missed and will remember his gentle nature, his kind efforts to help others, and his service to our country. With love always, Lynn, Bob, Courtney & Robby Powell, Wallingford, PA
I met John several times when my Father Faust worked at Werko. He was always super nice and easy to talk with. I had no idea he won 4 Bronze Stars. I knew he was a Vietnam Vet, but had no idea about the awards. To win not one but 4 Bronze Stars is simply amazing. They don't make many like John. Thank you for your dedicated service to our country.
I met John at Werko my father (faust) worked there .. I talked to John Many times both there and on the phone I was always interested in hearing about his time in the military as I served in the Coast Guard but after learning and hearing what John went through I was almost embarrased to talk about my time . He was a true hero and all the time I knew him and I would ask him questions he NEVER once bragged about his medals as a matter a fact I did not even know he was awarded a bronze star let alone four . For the short time I knew you John you were a special person my father spoke so highly about you , you will be missed im sure my thoughts and prayers are with your family ....
Our thoughts and prayers are with you in your time of sorrow.
I’ve known John for many years. I helped him build the deck on his house and he helped me fix my swimming pool. IF I ever needed help all I had to do is ask and John was there . Our family’s spent holidays together. I watched his son John grow up to be a fine young man. John was not just my Bother in-law he was a dear friend who will be sorely missed, and I’m deeply sadden by his passing.
"A Salute to John"...Thank you for your bravery and willingness to serve our country. A talented guy with a good heart.
If ya ever wanted to know about a tool, he would describe it in "detail"...(for hours!!!)
No matter where he was, he always just wanted to be home with his wife and son, who were his world and Fluffy on his lap.
His daughter's were his jewels.
He will be missed.
Dear Uncle John,
I'm glad you're at peace now and feel no more pain.
I will miss the days at family get togethers, when we would talk about music and growing up. You would talk to me when I was a rebelious teen. I hope I let you know I really appreciated it.
I'll miss you Uncle John!
Uncle John, my Godfather, aways there for anyone in need. "Where charity and love prevail..." are verses so fitting for Uncle John. I'm blessed to have known him and honored to be his Goddaughter.
My thoughts and prayers are with your family, John. Sleep now in the peace of the Lord. You've certainly earned it.
Dear Janice & Johnny,
I am so sorry to hear about John's passing. Sharon and I enjoyed the time we spent with you all the last time we visited. You all made us feel so much at home. I just wish life would have made it easier to be with my family of my youth. Please accept our condolences for you and Johnny and please pass this on to John's whole family. Please remember that the loving memories of John and the help of our lord will aid you in your grief.
May our love be with you.
Frank & Sharon Rosiak
Janice,
I am so sorry. By the time I am reading this, the viewing is over and you are at mass. The only thing I can think to say is that John is in a much happier place now, with the lord. His suffering is over. The blessings of the lord be with you,Johnny, and all your family, especially John himself. If I can help you in any way, do not hesitate contacting me.
With deepest regret Dave McHenry
I would like to extend my sincere condolences to John Jr and to Janice.
Wishing you strength at this difficult time.
To Janice and John Jr., I hope you find comfort though the Lord and I know that John has now found peace and comfort from his suffering.
Working with John for many years,he was good at his job and would talk about his son all the time, he loved his family. But you never new what to expect form him, he could make you laugh with some of his antics, he had a crazy dance he would do, refer to it as the Simko shuffle, he would say some things that would bounce off the wall and make you laugh, he had some crazy stories. I enjoyed working with him and always felt bad for the way our Vietnam Vets were treated and he would never complain, he just showed how proud he was to have served his country. Three cheers to you John, for Vets like you we are free and may the eagles fly and the flags wave for men like you, I was proud to know you as a person , a vet and a work friend. May you rest with the Lord and may he provide comfort for your family and friends. One last salute to you and thanks for the memories you crazy guy.
