Obituary of Ralph Emerson Bassett

Ralph Emerson Bassett, Jr., age 85 years, of Middletown Township, Pa., died on Tuesday, March 8, 2011 at home. Born in Haddonfield, NJ, Mr. Bassett had been a resident of Middletown Twp., for the past 37 years. Mr. Bassett was a graduate of Frankford High School and Temple University. He was a decorated veteran of the United States Coast Guard and participated in the Normandy Invasion. He had been employed by Joseph Pollard of Long Island, NY, in sales until his retirement. He was an active member of St. John's Episcopal Church of Glen Mills, PA, and the VFW Post #405 of Philadelphia, PA. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Anne Barr Bassett; 1 son, Ralph E. (Joan) Bassett, III and 1 daughter, Carol Bassett (Gordon) Carlisle;Two grandchildren, Ralph E. Bassett, IV and Sara Elizabeth Bassett.
