Mary was one of those people who was truly a pleasure to know. I don't really remember the year I met her but over the years we developed a close friendship. I looked forward to seeing her every two weeks and seeing what new plant she had gotten to bloom and asking her advice about my own garden and houseplants. We shared a love for needlework and crocheting and always shared our projects and ideas. Each time as I was leaving she would say "Thank you for helping us" and I would reply "It's my pleasure Mary." Mary was the sweetest person I ever had the privilege of knowing after my husband, David, and I moved to NJ 14 yrs ago. I visited my beloved St Francis de Sales often and at every visit Mary gave me the most loving hug, pleasant smile, eager to know how life at our shore was going and welcoming my return annually. I will miss her caring devotion to Charlie when I would attend mass as a parishioner and followed by my annual visit mass attendance.
