Obituary of John D. Cordato

John Dennis Cordato, age 69, of Wallingford, Pennsylvania, formerly of Hudson, NY, died suddenly on May 18, 2017.

Mr. Cordato was born on November 16, 1947 in Hudson, NY to the late Betty and John Cordato. He was the oldest of three children. 

John graduated from The Culinary Institute of America. Shortly after receiving his education, John enlisted in the United States Coast Guard and served for four years in the Vietnam War until he was honorably discharged in 1973. John continued to pursue his passion of cooking and spent thirty-five years as an Executive Chef.

John’s kind-hearted nature was evident in his desire to make other people happy. He would go above and beyond to take care of others, help whenever needed, and make others smile. John took interest in collecting coins and “funny money”. Despite living in the Philadelphia area, John was a lifelong Mets fan. Bird watching became one of John’s hobbies later in his life. Most of all, John was a devoted husband,  proud father, compassionate grandfather, and loyal friend.

John is survived by his loving wife, Pamela (Willox) of forty years, three children Brian (Peggy), Jeffrey (Laura) and Kaitlyn (John), one sister Christine, and four grandchildren. 

Marybeth Cordato, John’s sister predeceased him. 

Funeral Service: Wednesday, May 24th at 11:00AM at the Minshall Shropshire- Bleyler Funeral Home,  Middletown (Rte. #352) & Knowlton Rds., Middletown Twp., Media, PA 19063.

Visitation: Wednesday, May 24th after 9:30AM at the funeral home.

Interment: Lawn Croft Cemetery.
