Obituary of F. Steven Dunham

F. Steven Dunham, age 69, of Dallas, PA, died at home on Tuesday, August 11, 2020. Born in Upper Darby, PA, he was the son of the late Frank O. and Rita (Goebber) Dunham. Steve was a graduate of Marple-Newtown High School and Penn State in Surveying Technology. He was a member of the Babe Ruth League, where he was a south paw pitcher. He had been employed by the Pennsylvania Game Commission for 36 years as a surveyor, until his retirement in 2012. He also served as a Deputy Game Warden for 23 years, until retiring in 2004. Steve was passionate about preserving wildlife habitat; always going above and beyond in his daily job duties on State Game Lands and volunteering to assist with black bear studies and land preservation efforts whenever he could, even long after retirement. Steve's love of hunting, fishing and the outdoors took him frequently to Maine, Canada, as well as trips to western United States. Wherever he ventured, he couldn't pass by a dog without stopping to offer a pat on the head and maybe a biscuit from his pocket. A kind hearted man, he will be missed by all who knew him. Survivors: Sister: Marge (Chip) Miller Nieces: Julie Miller (Josh McWaters), Krystal (Ben) Jandzio and Jaclyn (Andrew) Oestreich Great-Niece: Haylee Services and Interment will be private.
