Condolences
Trish. My prayers go out to you and your boys. Pork Chop will always have a place in my heart. He was a favorite of my Dads, I loved spending time at the bars in North Wildwood with you two and he even let me dance with you. Hard to believe you two were at my 30th surprise birthday party at Ricks 32 years ago. We were doing chicken dance Will seem strange not seeing Chopper at Ridley games, I am going to miss him but know he is above telling the foul story to my Dad and they are laughing
You have our deepest sympathy. He is an all around nice guy and we are glad we got to know him on and off the field.
The Garber Family
I’m so sorry to hear this. We are keeping your family in our prayers. Joe was always so fun to be around. All of my memories of him are joyous ones.

Dear Trish, Tim, Brendan and Joey,
On behalf of the Delaware County Community Service family, we would like to extend our condolences to your family in your loss of our dear co-worker, Porkchop. Chop always had a smile and a good word for everyone he came in contact with, no matter what the circumstance. He never a bad word for anyone. Everyone in his eyes, was his equal and deserved a second chance.
Porkchop always had a good story to tell, mostly about his wife and sons - it would make us smile and laugh as we listened intently on the happenings of the Phillips family! Some of his stories were so vivid, we thought we were riding with the Delaware County Park Police, or at Bonner Baseball, Ridley Little League, Interboro Softball or in class with Trish at Interboro! Even now, after his passing, it's so hard to believe we won't hear that chuckle, story or "reminder"....Porkchop was like an alarm clock too! Always reminding us when what group was playing, where and what time we should go!
We all will miss him dearly including our clients. Many times they would request to go on Porkchop's van and loved when he took them to Fair Acres or other "adventures"! Porkchop treated everyone fairly and rarely had a bad experience with anyone. He took everyone under his wing and would encourage many to stay out of trouble, get involved with sports or other activities.
For Porkchop's Friends and Family - we are here for you if you need us. There will always be a shoulder to cry on, a need for a good laugh or just a gentle hug. Whenever you need us, just holla! Here is a poem written by someone else, that I like to read that perfectly sums up Chop and his new home in Heaven....
"My Dearest Family and Friends"
Some things I'd like to say, but first of all to let you know
that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from heaven where I dwell with God above
where there's no more tears of sadness there is just eternal love.
Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight,
remember that I'm with you every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on Earth was through,
God picked me up and hugged me and He said "I welcome you!"
I will be beside you every day and week and year,
and when you're sad I'm standing there to wipe away the tear.
When you think of my life on Earth and all those loving years,
because you're only human, they're bound to bring you tears.
But do not be afraid to cry, it does relieve the pain, remember there
would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.
There are rocky roads ahead of you, and many hills to climb,
but together we can do it taking one day at a time.
So when you're walking down the street and you've got me on your mind,
I'm walking in your footsteps, only half a step behind.
And when you feel the gentle breeze of the wind upon your face,
that's me giving you a great big hug or just a soft embrace.
And when it's time for you to go, from the body to be free,
remember you're not going, you are coming here to me!
And I will always love you from that land way up above.
We'll be in touch again soon.
P.S. God sends His LOVE!
Joseph J. "Porkchop" Phillips

Our family knew Joe as Chop. Chop had a bigger personality than him. My son played baseball at Leedom Little League. We spent the end of August in Williamsport. Little League World Series. Pin trading. Waiting on "The Hill" on Championship weekend to get our spot. Chop always greeted you with a hello and a smile. Chop will be missed by his family, Little League, community, coaches, players and friends.
