Obituary of Joseph J. Phillips

Joseph J. Phillips, “Porkchop” age 57, of Ridley Park, PA, died suddenly from a brain aneurysm on Tuesday, December 15, 2020. He was a graduate of Ridley High School, Class of 1981. He was employed at Swarthmore College as a campus driver and also for the County of Delaware, as a driver for the community service transport. Porkchop was actively involved in youth sports, including Ridley Leedom Little League and Ridley ABA. He also was a coach for Interboro Girls Softball. He was a supporter of Monsignor Bonner High School Baseball, and actively followed Ridley High School Sports and attended most games. Porkchop also enjoyed vacationing in Wildwood, NJ. Most importantly he cherished spending time with his family and his dog, Libby. Son of John and Jacqueline (Lines) Phillips, son-in-law of the late Timothy and Mary Gill. Survivors: Loving wife of 31 years: Trish Gill Phillips Sons: Tim, Brendan and Joey Phillips Brothers: John (Barb) Phillips and Jeffrey (Gail) Phillips Brothers-in Law: Bucky (Gail) Gill and Gooch (Fran) Gill Also many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews Visitation: Saturday, December 19th from 9:30-11:15AM at Minshall Shropshire-Bleyler Funeral Home, Ltd., Middletown (Rte. #352) & Knowlton Rds., Middletown Twp., Media, PA 19063, where there will be sharing at 11:30AM. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Ridley Area Little League (formerly, Leedom Little league) P.O. Box 671, Ridley Park, 19078.
