Obituary of Shirley Ann Powell

Shirley Ann Powell, age 67, a lifelong resident of Chester, PA, and formerly a resident of Wallingford for 15 years, died on Monday, February 13, 2023.  Shirley was a graduate of Chester High School, Class of 1973 and graduated with an Associate’s Degree from Penn State University.

Shirley was an H.R. Specialist with the United States Office of Probation for more than 35 years, retiring in 2015.

She enjoyed jazz festivals, gardening and reading.  Shirley was an avid supporter of Breast Cancer Awareness and was active in the annual walks.  Most of all, Shirley was devoted to her family and their wellbeing, no matter what they needed.  Shirley will be missed by all whose lives she has touched.

Nieces and Nephews: Tim Powell, Eric P. (Kelsie) Powell, Christopher Powell, Bobby Eckert, Julia (Matthew) Valcarcel, Jacob Eckert, Candice (Justin) Jewell, Scott Powell Jr., Daniel (Julieanne) Brechbiel, Jessica Powell, Elizabeth Powell.

Great-Nieces and Nephews: Brandon and Katie Powell, Preston Powell, Rachel and Benjamin Brechbiel.

Aunts: Josephine Pokoy and Dolores Mignogna

Uncle: Pasquale Mignogna

Also survived by many dear friends.

Visitation: Monday, February 20^th from 10:00-11:15AM at Minshall Shropshire-Bleyler Funeral Home, Middletown (Rte. #352) & Knowlton Rds., Middletown Twp., Media, PA 19063.

Funeral Service: Monday, February 20^th at 11:30AM at the funeral home.

Interment: Chester Rural Cemetery.
