I met Velma in 2000 when we moved to Waterford Drive in Lewes. She was my neighbor and dear friend. I have so many happy memories of her... we had a group called the Golden Girls and she was Blanche. She would have neighborhood friends at her house for tea and cookies/cakes in her sunroom. She could make you laugh at any time. Many times she came over to our home next door and we would chat in the living room or front porch. What a great cook and baker she was! Always brought something with her. She loved her children and grandchildren very much. We moved to PA in 2015, she and Sam visited us when they went to a Korean War gathering around New Hope PA... and I last saw her at Sam's (Will) viewing. But we spoke to each other by phone so many times. Covid kept me from visiting her... and I always wanted to do that. I did speak to her the week before she passed away and I ended our conversation with "I love you Velma". She told me about her stroke at the time.

I know I will meet her again some day. Rest in Peace Velma.

I'm so sorry to hear of this sweet lady's passing. She always had a smile and kind word. My family and I are very saddened for April & her whole family and everyone who knew Velma. Wishing you patience and strength in these tough days ahead without her. Our hearts ache for you.
