Condolences
Hi Norma,
I don't know if you remember me but I worked for Jack right out of high school back in 1969. He was such a nice man and I enjoyed working for him. I remember when you had him on a diet and he would always bring in his hard boil eggs for lunch. He would always talk about his boys, John and Paul and you, of course. He would tease and say "that woman I live with."
Please accept our sincere sympathy for you and your family.
Pat & Chuck Grogan
I worked with Jack many years ago. I was just a kid, but he always made time for me. He was always a gentleman. I always admired him. May he rest in peace.
Just wanted to say that our prayers are with you and your family. Jack was one of those guys that always seemed bigger than life to me. His sense of humor and timing was over the top! I remember one particularly serious Year End Financial briefing that Jack gave to our Commanding Officer and senior staff. The atmosphere was a bit tense. Just before starting, Jack paused and turned his back to the audience. He seemed to be adjusting his glasses. When he turned around, he said "Not to worry, Skipper...this is going to be a "good news brief" (or something to that effect). Everyone broke up (perhaps with the exception of the CO. He was wearing a Pinocchio nose. That was Jack! We loved him for his sense of humor, his fearlessness and his 'big picture' outlook on life. He will be dearly missed. Jim and LuAnn Duffy
Dear Mrs. Koscinski and Family, I am deeply saddened to learn of Jack's death. I knew and worked with Jack at the Navy for many, many years. He, of course, was in Finance and I worked in the Transportation and Real Estate Divisions and then the Base Closure Team. Jack and I had a great working relationship; he was always ready to help me out with a money issue. On the personal side, I remember him as a good and devoted family man. I always enjoyed his very personable and humorous personality and talking to him about sports. I considered him not only a co-worker but a friend. I know he will be missed. May Jack rest in the peace of the Lord. My prayers are with you and your family at this most difficult time. May God comfort you and bless you all. With deepest sympathy, Marian DiGiamarino
Norma, John and Paul, I came to work for Jack in '75. He was an easy guy to work for. He always pitched in working in those BIG accounting books before the advent of computers. He was funny and knew his stuff. You could always take a seat in his office and vent about whatever was happening that day. Try that with other managers, not. He will be missed by a lot of people. May he rest in peace in that big accounting office in the sky.
I worked with Jack for the first 10 years of my government career. His guidance in accounting are the foundations of what I know today and continue to guide me. He taught me the true joy in laughter. He also taught me that you could work hard and still enjoy a practical joke. I will never forget the time we were on travel and he was kind enough to let us use his room to run to the washroom during a conference. Unfortunately, he didn't realize we had removed his shower head and put in dry red kool-aid. His comments the next day at work, after he had been showered with red, really set the bar for how to respond to all situations with a great sense of humor. I was honored to know him.
Dear Norma, John, & Paul, My husband, Al and I worked with Jack for many years at the Phila Navy Yard and were deeply saddened to learn of his passing. Jack was such a good natured guy... he always made me crack up with laughter! Try to remember the good times...the happy times and Jack's memory will live on forever. The memory of him will always make me smile. Please know we are thinking and praying for all of you at this most difficult time.
